Lantern Festival

Once again we got to Vancouver just in time for the lantern festival. With my parents and Susannah and Erik we trekked down to Trout Lake in East Vancouver, where thousands of people were milling around with their homemade lanterns, listening to the drummers, or the chorus group up in a tree singing Bulgarian folk songs, or watching the fire shows. We watched Nat's fireshow and then wandered around, soaking up the sights: seahorse lanterns, hotair balloon lanterns filled with helium and headed for the moon, dragons, or sometimes multiperson installations like these road workers:
