Fleeting smiles

Theo is just starting to smile at us from time to time, and we've been trying to catch it on film (in pixels, I suppose). It's not easy! There are a few fleeting little almost-smiles in this video.

we're simultaneously trying to build some more shelving to better organize our tiny house! Luckily, Theo seems to be soothed by the sound of power tools. 8)

These photos are from about 2 weeks ago, but I haven't had time to post them, or to take very many new ones. We are getting ready for a big road trip to California, so picture-taking and blog-posting time is limited. There's been lots of work on the van (shelves, more curtains, a water pump, etc.) to get it ready for 10 days of camping. Of course, it would have been fine just as it was, but we are the sort of folks who are inspired by deadlines. We'll be stopping in Portland for a bike show, then heading to the Bay area for an all-sail boat show. We have a passel of friends in California, and we're going to try to spend time with all of them - while wrangling a 2-month old baby and a 9-month old dog on the road. Wish us luck!!

Wee Theo has recently grown out of a whole batch of clothes. This morning I sorted through his drawers and took out the outfits that no longer fit. Then I got all nostalgic about how small he used to be! I had to laugh at myself, because he's still very wee...
